Privacy policy

TutorRecap is built for private tutors. This policy explains what information we use to create and keep lesson recaps.

Who the product is for

TutorRecap is an app for solo private tutors. Parents do not create accounts. There is no parent portal and TutorRecap never sends WhatsApp, SMS, or email on your behalf.

What we collect

• Your Google sign-in identity (email and display name) through Supabase Auth.
• Student first name, subject, parent first name, and an optional tone hint that you enter.
• Learning focus and private teacher notes that you choose to save for each student.
• Your draft instructions and which recap sections you choose to show.
• Confirmed recaps: Goal, Evidence, Next action, timestamps, and whether you opened share.
• A pseudonymous account identifier and purchase status are processed by RevenueCat and Google Play for subscriptions.

Voice notes

After a lesson you may record up to 60 seconds of your own voice about the lesson — never the student. Speech is transcribed on your device. You can edit the transcript before drafting. The audio clip stays on your device temporarily and is deleted when you complete or discard the draft. TutorRecap does not store the audio or transcript in its database.

AI drafting

To create a draft, we send your transcript, the student and parent first names, subject, learning focus, relevant previous recap, and your draft instructions to an AI provider through our server. We currently configure MiniMax for this service. Your private teacher note is not sent. AI output may be wrong; you must review it before sharing. The provider may process data under its own terms and privacy policy.

Billing

This website does not collect card numbers. Android subscriptions are processed by Google Play. RevenueCat helps us validate purchases and check plan status. You can manage or cancel a subscription in Google Play.

Who can see a recap

Recaps stay on your account until you share them from your phone. Sharing uses the device share sheet into a chat you already have. You review and confirm every recap before share is unlocked. Recaps are named education records about a student. Do not include medical, safeguarding, or diagnostic detail.

Storage and access

Account data, students, preferences, and recaps are stored in Supabase. Our access rules limit each tutor to their own records. We retain account data until you delete it, subject to any information a payment provider must keep for legal or transaction records.

Delete your data

In the app, go to Settings → Delete account and type DELETE. You can also request deletion without the app through our account deletion page. Deleting your TutorRecap account removes your login, profile, students, private notes, preferences, and recaps. If you have an active Google Play subscription, cancel it separately to stop future renewals.
